Feeling like you could use a lil’ extra allowance? According to SeekingArrangement, the number of university sugar babies has risen by 6% in the past year. You could join intramural sports, you could join the debate club… or you could hang out with older people for money. Why not!

Did you know that student unemployment in Canada is about twice as high as that of the general population? With this in mind, it’s no surprise that students are looking towards different ‘income streams’. As the kids say.

You may be wondering what the exact numbers for Canadian sugar babies are. We wonder that once a week. Well,  you may want to sit down for this one. Apparently, there are just over 998,000 female sugar babies and just over 225,000 male sugar babies. That’s a lot.

You’re also probably wondering if your alma mater made it, of course. Here are the top 3: The University of Toronto with 1158 sugar babies, Western University with 777, and the University of Alberta with 729.  We know Toronto’s expensive, but dang.

One of the funniest things is that SeekingArrangement calls sugar baby-ing “an elevated college experience.” Here we were thinking that joining a sorority or hitting up that singular student government meeting was elevating us.
