Home of the Week: Poolside lounging & palm trees just outside of Calgary

Have we got a treat for you! This Curiocity Calgary home of the week is an absolute vacation. We’re talking palm trees, outdoor pools, and bonfires. Pull up a lounge chair! This five-star resort is all sun, all sangria…but only for like, three months of the year. After all, it’s Calgary.
HOME OF THE WEEK

Why would anyone in their right mind have an outdoor pool in Calgary? We guess money can’t buy logic, but it sure looks like it can buy a nice place. Although it seems pretty impractical (because it is), this Calgary home of the week does the absolute most when it comes to landscaping and luxury outdoor living.
Most homes in 2019 are all about the interior. Most listings will do its best to sell you on the marble flooring, the soaker tubs, and the living spaces, but this ad is different.

Home of the week: A modern family home with an indoor rock climbing wall

The 3335 square foot home has four bedrooms and five large bathrooms, standard for a family home. The master bedroom is pretty grand and features a large ensuite along with a fireplace and a huge closet.

The interior is fairly monochromatic. The browns and beiges in the kitchen area, living room, upstairs and downstairs are all pretty uniform, not that there’s anything wrong with that. It’s all pretty easy to work with in terms of decor, but a pop of colour never hurt anybody.

Downstairs, entertain guests by the wet bar and in the games room! Now we’re sure there are a few other bonus rooms, but there’s no mention of much else in the ad. There is a ton of pictures of the pool though!

The house is just nice enough on the inside and big enough on the outside to justify the price, but the photos and description make it clear: the selling point isn’t the square footage or the hardwood flooring, it’s definitely the pool area.
This grande swimming hole, the acreage of master landscaping, and multiple outdoor lounging spaces will cost you $2,250,000 but you’ll also get a house with that, so we guess its worth it? At least it will be between June and early September— if you’re lucky.
