Across the world, events and festivals have been cancelled. Of course, you know that already… but did you know that Historic Calgary Week will be taking place online this year?
If you’ve never heard of or participated in CHW, don’t worry about it. We’ve got you. This annual tradition held by The Calgary Public Library and Chinook Country Historical Society typically celebrates the city’s rich history by making presentations and offering fun and informative tours. This year, however, they’ve kind of had to rework everything.

Because the organization believes that it’s important to take a look back at how far we’ve come as a community, 2020’s week-long festivity will now feature several fun virtual experiences. Which really isn’t all that bad!
With this event, Calgary will be able to travel through time to when we welcomed the car, or can count down the city’s oldest homes! It’s actually going to be pretty cool, guys.
When it becomes safe again, these folks hope to hold in-person tours again, but until then check out their website here and explore our roots on the net!
