Canada never ceases to amaze us. If you live in British Columbia or Ontario, you saw a lot, if not at least some sun this weekend. At worst, you may have had a little bit of rain but it was nothing you couldn’t handle. It is only September, after all! What’s the worst that could fall from the sky? Hail? Cats? Frogs?

For the answer to this particular weather-related question, we’re looking to Alberta for an answer. They really should know considering how.. ehem… eventful this past long weekend was for them.

While major cities like Calgary and Edmonton did take in a few rays, the western corner of the province got freaking dumped on. Some were reaching for sunscreen… others were reaching for the thermostat.

Kananaskis, Banff, and Canmore probably saw the worst of it…

With some areas actually seeing half a ruler worth of the white stuff…

But it certainly wasn’t just the mountains that saw some powder. Over the last few days, the storm has blown in and out of towns like Cardston, YYC and Foothills County.

Looks fun.

Don’t worry though. There’s a happy ending here, folks. There are clear skies on the horizon! According to our friends at Weather Alberta this week should be a heck of a lot better.

…hopefully. Our fingers are crossed, but who the heck knows. In 2020 anything is possible. Maybe consider keeping a pair of mittens next to your flip flops.

These are strange times, Canada. Strange times, indeed.
