Explore Calgary And Beyond Through This Crazy Fun Scavenger Hunt Adventure

Via Mystery Towns

If you think you’re already in the know of all things Calgary, think again and get ready to experience our city in a whole new way.

Launched out of Canmore in 2017, Mystery Towns has created a variety of new outdoor Amazing Race-style adventures that are perfect for socially-distanced entertainment while the weather is still nice!  Part scavenger hunt, part escape room, the app-based game will take you on a local walking adventure filled with brainteasers, clues, and puzzles. All you need is the app on your smartphone, and you’re ready to hit the streets on this fun-filled adventure!

Right now, you can take part in solving the “Four C’s” – a game pack that includes Calgary, Canmore, Cochrane, and Crowsnest Pass, or choose to play the games individually.

So, here’s how it works… Just head to SolveAlberta.com, select the location of your choice, and click “book now”. You’ll be sent a code to use once you’ve installed the app on your phone and are ready to play the game! (Just search “Mystery Towns” in your app store.)

You can use the game any day and time you want, but it’s recommended to only play during daylight hours since you’ll be walking about 2 to 3km. Enjoy adventures at your own pace, or race the clock and see where you stand on the leaderboard!

Most of the games are about 60 to 90 minutes long and recommended for teams of 1 to 4 players, (though this is definitely not enforced!) When you’re ready to play, activate your game code in the app and go to the start location. Clues will start to appear in the app and you’ll be on your way!

Mystery Towns has a huge variety of signature adventures that will resume post-Covid, but in the meantime, you can explore a ton of local places using their socially-distanced games including Canmore, Cochrane, and Crowsnest Pass.

Try it out and let us know what you find!
