Cocktails, beers, and no kids at a Cineplex coming soon
Well, Cineplex, you certainly know how to get us excited about the movies. Arriving in Calgary in 2021 will be one of only two theatres in all of Canada operating as an ‘adults-only’ film experience (not to be confused with the ‘adult-film only’ experience you were probably hoping for).
When the new theatre opens in the University District, you’ll be able to sit down and have your food and drinks delivered straight to your seat. That sounds alright, but if you feel like being even more boujee (like we do) then take advantage of the fully licensed lounge and extended menu! That’s right, people, we’re talking beers, wine, cocktails, burgers, salads, artisanal pizzas, etc. all delivered to your plush leather seat while you’re chilling like a villain taking in a flick.

Throw in the fact that there are no kids to terrorize your movie-going experience and boom! You’ve got yourself a new favourite theatre! Are we happy about having to wait until 2021 for a movie theatre like this? Of course not. Are we going to relish the fact that this is even a possibility and thank Cineplex by going to tons of movies until then? Of course!
PS: this is the part where Cineplex should be giving us free tickets. We’ll see all of you at the theatres in a few years, first round is on us!
