A Google Earth user recently revealed a timelapse of Calgary evolving over the past 30 or so years, and it’s pretty crazy to watch. We love a good glow up, don’t you?! Cowtown’s definitely changed a whole lot over the years. …But sometimes it’s hard to remember how things used to be. Aaaand that’s where Reddit comes in with the Calgary timelapse!
User whys0seri0us44 (we’re guessing he’s a Ledger fan) uploaded this nifty gif of Calgary transforming into the home we know today. Starting in 1984, the vid spans 34 years in the course of a few seconds. It’s kinda mesmerizing to watch if we’re being honest.

What was Calgary like in 1984? Well, we guess it was a lot smaller. There were also pay phones on every street corner and no such thing as Facebook, but we can’t see that from space. Oh well! Still looks pretty cool if you ask us.
