For the first time ever, the Canada Walk of Fame is opening up submissions for the nation’s next Community Hero. Know somebody under the age of 30 who’s making major moves? Well, help them get the recognition they deserve and nominate them! We’re also totally open to a nom, just sayin.

The winner will receive $10,000 to donate to the charity or cause of their choice, 2 tickets to the Walk of Fame Awards and Gala, and a mentorship with a fellow Canadian hero. Plus, they will be recognized on national television during the ceremony.

Last year marked the first time the Community Hero award was given out. It went to Stella Bowles of LaHave, Nova Scotia. At the age of 11, Stella found out that wastewater was being pumped directly into the local waterway.

Well, she got to raising awareness and soon found thousands of supporters. Eventually, she was able to convince all three levels of government to pledge $15.7M towards cleaning up the LaHave River. Pretty sweet move, honestly!

If you’re thinking of nominating someone, all you have to do is provide a description of them in 500 words or less. Heck, we’ve reached that limit talking about a particularly good slice of apple pie.
