Gone are the days of standing in line to buy a ticket at the train station after a big event. Calgary Transit has finally rolled out its highly anticipated app that will allow commuters to pay their fare with their smartphone just in time for Canada Day – however, due to technical difficulties, iPhone users will have to wait to join in on the paperless fun.
The City of Calgary’s new My Fare app will allow all users to purchase passes on their phones. Both monthly and single-ride passes will be available and can be scanned while boarding the bus or shown on the LRT if requested by transit officers.

According to the Calgary Transit Website, buying and using a ticket is simple! “Just download the app and purchase tickets. It’s fast, easy and available any time you’re on the go,” they say.
Luckily, for those who have an iPhone, aren’t super familiar with the app store, or don’t have a smartphone or, Calgary Transit will still sell and accept paper passes. Good riddance.
The My Fare Calgary Transit app is now available on the Google Play app store and will be available on iTunes in the near future – but we’ll keep you guys updated. Welcome to 2020, CT. We’ve been waiting for you!
