Calgary students create Joy4All hotline for seniors amid pandemic

We’re all in this together and a few Calgary teens are doing the absolute most with their Joy4All Hotline to remind seniors that we’re thinking of them during this time.

The 50+ community has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic. Being away from family and friends is hard, which is why local high school students have created a seniors only hotline. Callers will be able to pick up the phone and hear a pre-recorded joke, a poem, a positive story or a feel-good quote.

Jared Quinn, co-creator said that they hope that this bridges the age gap because they recognize alot of people his age may not have a ton in common with the older generation. Nice, guys!

The hotline isn’t entirely finished quite yet, but seniors can still call now! In the coming weeks, they hope to add messages in different languages to reach a broader audience.

To hear a message from Joy4All, call (403) 209-4300 or 1-877-JOY-4ALL or, to submit a message, go to joy4all.ca
