So you’re having a jolly good time on your electric scooter and then you arrive at your destination, what do you do, where do you park? If your answer is ‘everywhere and anywhere,’ prepare to be schooled because a popular e-scooter company, has partnered with the city of Calgary to launch, Lime Patrol, an elite squad of ride-sharing educators. Yes, we agree that this sounds funny.

In response to safety concerns and several complaints made to the city, Lime has announced the launch of a new safety ambassador program.

Calgary Lime Patrol ambassadors will frequent high-use areas like Eau Claire and 17th Avenue, answering questions and teaching users basic ‘e-scooter’ etiquette.

It should go without saying, but you shouldn’t be parking your ride in the very middle of the sidewalk, especially in busier areas. Unfortunately, this is something that happens pretty often and on occasion, has even caused a few injuries. Oy vey.

Guys, the last thing that we want is to have our shiny new toys taken away because people are bruising and breaking ankles left, right and centre.

A lot of people actually rely on these things to get around… and also they’re just a ton of fun,  so it’s important that we’re smart folks! With great power comes great responsibility.
