Alberta has begun phase one of its economic relaunch, but what in the heck does that mean? In the last 24 hours plans have changed pretty drastically, so we figured we’d give you guys a simplified rundown of what you can do, and where you go beginning today, May 14th!

As per an announcement made Wednesday, by Premier Jason Kenney, Calgary and Brooks will be doing things at their own pace, which is fair! It’s better to be safe than sorry, right?!

reopening

Unfortunately, we will no longer be able to hit up local restaurants or get a fresh cut just yet, but we can check retail spaces and art galleries!

Clothing stores, furniture stores, bookstores, and farmers’ markets will now be allowed to reopen, as well as museums. You can now send your children to daycare, and out-of-school care, and you will be able to book non-urgent surgeries. Since a lot of these stores and businesses will be opening dependent on the owners’ decisions, we’d recommend calling ahead just to double-check.

Of course stores, care centres and doctors’ offices will now have occupancy limits, but they’re open folks! As always, it’s important to remember to keep physically distanced from others and wash your hands, but we can do so knowing that we’ve been making progress, and for that, we can be thankful!

Be safe out there, friends!
