Alberta’s provincial campgrounds begin to book at full capacity starting Friday

Well, pitch a tent and call us Yogi Bear. As Premier Jason Kenney announced earlier this week, Alberta’s provincial campgrounds have been given the green light to operate at full capacity as of this Friday. Phase 2 of the economic relaunch is here, and with that, more sites will be available in the coming weeks.
Alberta Parks took to twitter this afternoon, to encourage campers to “check on their favourite campgrounds” for availability. The current list of sites will be updated a few at a time, in order to work out all operational details.

Until this week, all parks were only able to open at 50% capacity, taking a toll on campgrounds, and putting a wrench in the plans of anxious backwoods adventurers.
Unfortunately, people who had booked campgrounds since before COVID were chosen at random to be shuffled around… if not just denied their reservation entirely. Bummer.
Now that the parks system taking more reservations at one of Alberta’s provincial campgrounds we recommend booking ASAP. These babies are going like hotcakes, people! Get on it, and enjoy the rest of the camping season!
