Air Canada is suspending all Canada-US cross-border flights by April 26

In a statement earlier this morning, Air Canada said that they are going to suspend all of their US-Canada cross-border flights starting on April 26. Up until now, Air Canada had been operating very limited US-Canada flights, and mostly so they could repatriate Canadians.
But with Canada and the US agreeing to extend border restrictions, there’s little incentive for Air Canada to continue flying. We doubt many people were trying to travel for fun at this time, but who knows these days. And besides, a lot of planes are being modified to carry cargo instead.

According to Air Canada, the suspension will be in place until May 22 at the earliest. Of course, Air Canada is going to waive change fees for any travellers who had flights booked during that time.
So if for some reason you had a flight during the next few weeks, you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that it won’t cost anything to change it. If you’d like to see the full press release about US-Canada flight suspensions, click here!
