If you get COVID how long are you immune for afterward? Are you immune? We knew we definitely couldn’t be the only ones to wonder what the deal is with that. Luckily for all of us rightfully curious distancers, scientists in Toronto are hoping to get answers by studying the antibodies of over 10,000 Canadians.

In a study they’re calling the Action to Beat Coronavirus, the best and brightest will be testing people who have already had the virus and were able to fight it off.

What is it that enabled them to beat COVID? How long does it last, and is unlocking the secret to their immunity the key to helping others do the same?

Between the scientists at the University of Toronto, the Centre for Global Health Research at Unity Health Toronto, and the Angus Reid Institute, we’re pretty confident they’ll be able to figure it out.

Teams from all three credible institutes will be working in collaboration with one another to create and distribute at-home testing kits. These kits will be given to people previously exposed and will allow the participants to run these tests at home.

Blood will be taken and mailed to the lab twice in 6 months, which sounds like a ton of fun. (Obviously, we’re joking) Then they will test the samples and hopefully get some answers.

Because the Action to Beat Coronavirus study has already kicked off, we wish them good luck and are sending good vibes! We’ll be waiting for your findings!
