A futuristic glampsite just over the U.S.-Alberta border will open up in 2021

What’s better than fresh air, waking up in a tent and a cold beer next to a campfire? If your answer isn’t, “being able to enjoy all of those things without having to sleep in a tent,” then don’t bother reading ahead. In 2021, those who aren’t big on inevitably moist zippers should consider hitting up BaseGlamp, a year-round alternative to ‘roughing it’ in Glacier Country, Montana.

Finally, we can get on that ‘one-with-the-earth’ biz, without having to sacrifice a comfortable night’s sleep! Unfortunately, other than a few pictures posted to their Instagram, there’s not a ton said about the site other then it’s location. It’s very obviously a work in progress!

Since earlier this year, these guys have been redeveloping some land just off Flathead Lake, approximately 1.5 hours from the Canada/U.S. border and 5.5 hours from Calgary.

Renderings of the amenities in BG, look like sea-foam coloured pod-like cabins. We’re not sure what else exactly they have in mind for this place, but consider us intrigued.

Once the border opens up, you can bet your bottom dollar that we’ll be itching to hit up parks outside of our own province. Will be ready to fly to big cities or pay a million dollars to visit popular tourist attractions? Hell no, so a place like this sounds like it might be right in our wheelhouse.

As we get more information, we’ll definitely update you guys so keep your peepers open! Until then, stay safe, and maybe consider a staycation within your own province. Don’t go chasing waterfalls Canada, stick to those rivers and lakes you’re used to.
