5 ways to celebrate Remembrance Day virtually this year

Like nearly every annually held event or show that has come and gone over the last few months, November 11th, 2020 will take place online. From National services to those held right here in YYC, world war museums and cemeteries will broadcast moving ceremonies honouring those who fought and continue to fight for our country. Here are 5 ways to celebrate Remembrance Day online this year.
THE FIELD OF CROSSES
This Wednesday, those who don’t feel comfortable attending the Night of Lights on the 10th, can still watch the morning service virtually at the link above. This annually held Remembrance ceremony may look a little differently this year but will still be as moving as the year before.

CANADIAN WAR MUSEUM CEREMONY
All Canadians are encouraged to virtually attend this beautiful online ceremony commemorating soldiers of the past and present. This live stream will be available on both their Facebook and Twitter feeds as well as their main website, which we’ve linked above.

VIRTUAL SERVICE AT MILITARY MUSEUM
Due to the COVID pandemic, this year’s Military Museum Reference Day ceremony will take place online this year. Tune in at the link above to watch live footage of the moving morning service here, and honour our veterans both of the past and present.

HANGAR FLIGHT MUSEUM CEREMONY
This Wednesday, tune in to CTV for their live coverage of the annually held Hangar Flight Museum ceremony. This community-driven ceremony will begin at 10:57 am sharp, run until 11:30 am and be completely free to the public.

CANADIAN PACIFIC REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY
This year, Canadian Pacific will tribute more than 33,000 employees who have served in the last two world wars. This virtual ceremony, live every year before in, will begin with the annually sounded whistle of the official CP locomotive’s whistle, followed by a moment of silence and several speeches.
