Whether you like your GNOs to look like a clip straight outta a Beyonce music video, or you prefer something mellow with a splash of wine, or hitting up a fun and educational event, we’ve put together the ultimate Girls Night Out in Calgary guide with unique ideas, tasty eats, and only the best drinks– for every type of lady!
We’ve teamed up with La Casa Latina, one of the best Latin food spots in the entire city, to put together the ultimate list of activities for you and your gal pals. Here are 8 incredible girls night activities in Calgary.
Betty Lou’s Library

No girls night out is complete without at least a pit stop at a speakeasy. There is just something about needing to find the hidden door to even enter the place that paints the perfect picture of a scandalous GNO. With live jazz bands, musicians, dancers, and even burlesque shows, Betty Lou’s seems to always have something to see.
If you aren’t looking for a wild night out, it’s still a great stop to tuck away somewhere quiet and enjoy one of their many unique cocktails. We’ll take a “the beautiful and the damned” any day.

Adults Only Night at TELUS Spark

This one’s for all you smart ladies! Have an amazing time while still soaking up the interactive galleries within TELUS Spark. Once a month, the Adults Only Night pops off with a fully licensed bar. Trust us when we say any science centre is 10x more fun with a little champy in your system.

Macaron 101 at Ollia Macarons & Tea

Sometimes a lady just wants to be classy, sip some tea, and eat some delicious macarons– made by you! For an incredibly chill ladies night out, a macaron baking class with Ollia hits the spot. Known as one of the trickiest items to bake, not only is it a great way to bond with your girls, it’s kiiiiind of a handy life skill to learn (at least if you crave macarons as often as us). Baking flavours like champagne, lavender honey, or creme brulee with the guidance of a pro for two hours is time well spent in our books, folks.

Comedy Night at The Tea House

No girls night is complete without comedy. Hopefully, you’ve got friends that are funny enough to make you laugh, but if they aren’t, The Tea House should be able to help. There are openers and headliners, so your night is sure to be filled with ample comedy content. Be sure to kick back, order yourself a drink, and snack on their tasty menu offerings. At just $10 a ticket, be sure to add Comedy Night to the mix!

The Tasting Room at The Cellar Winestore

You’ll need to have a decent sized group of ladies for your GNO to book a private tasting event, but if you’ve got the overhead (and your group enjoys wine) this is a definite must-do. Besides, who doesn’t like wine? Especially lots of it. The room requires a minimum of 10 people to book an event, but it fits up to 60, so tell your girlfriends to bring their girlfriends, and their girlfriends to bring their girlfriends, and… voila.
Where: 137 – 8th Ave SW
Yardy Party Friday’s at Cowboys

The Yardy Party is definitely the rowdiest of our suggestions– so get ready to, how the kids would say, “TURN UP”, ladies! For a wild night out, and a dang good dance floor, get over to Cowboy’s for this out of control Friday night event. We suggest making it the final stop of your night though, we aren’t so sure you’ll be able to make it anywhere else after this one.

Okay, so for some of the most authentic, delicious Latin American and Mexican food in the city, La Casa Latina is an absolute must-have. Share some classic chips and guac, order the Tacos Al Pastor, an extremely authentic dish like the Bandeja Paisa, or for your seafood lovers, try the Pescado Colombiano. Through some refreshing Mexican Bulldogs into the mix and you’re good to go! Stop by for the whole night to catch their live music events, or use it as one of your stops throughout the evening, either way, definitely include them on the itinerary!
