This classy cocktail spot is the best hidden gem at The Stampede

Curiocity Group Inc.Old Fashioned & Ladue Milk Punch / Curiocity Group Inc.

Do you think you know all that you need to know about the Calgary Stampede? No chance, ol’ buddy ol’ pal. For example, have you ever heard of Bar Nineteen Twelve? If you have, congratulations. Also, we apologize for letting the secret out. IF you haven’t heard about Bar Nineteen Twelve, well then we’ve got a lovely little surprise for you. Let’s check it out!

The newest restaurant at the Calgary Stampede is tucked right inside the Big Four Roadhouse. It’s an upscale, intimate experience with BY FAR the best cocktail menu on the Stampede Grounds. We’re not kidding about these cocktails, folks, they are next-level. Also, the place has an old school class that is missing in plenty of other Stampede watering holes.

If you’re looking for an Old Fashioned, feel free to choose among 5 bourbon options and 4 variations of bitters. Also, Bar Nineteen Twelve has the last six bottles of Blanton’s Original Bourbon in Alberta not claimed by typical restaurants. Hustle up for a taste, folks!

Another drink is the Ladue Milk Punch which literally takes over 24 hours to make. Normally, we’d say that’s too long, but we’re not mixologists. We’ll just sit back and sip away.

Plenty of other classics and a few more ambitious creations (like the Green Tea-infused Martini) fill out the cocktail menu. On top of that, all of these creations are served in a decor inspired by the Golden Era. The Gatsby vibes definitely make any cowboy or cowgirl gain a little extra class. Trust us.

Heck, you can even perch above the main floor of the Big Four and people watch! It’s open during all major events at or on the Stampede Grounds over the course of the year, so plan your next visit soon.
