If you haven’t gotten a chance to explore the new Central Library, it’s definitely time to check it out…but besides the books, we’re super stoked on the fact that Lukes has opened two cafes inside! Keep reading to learn more about the collab between our fave drug mart and Bar Von Der Fels’ Eric Hendry.  

We have a feeling we’ll be spending quite a bit of time at the library, so it’s a good thing that someone will be keeping us well fed. Serving up quality food and drink offerings at affordable prices, Lukes will be found as a coffee shop on 1M and as an exterior restaurant. 

Open the same hours as the library, the 1M cafe will feature classic Lukes-style soft serve ice cream, as well as baked goods from Pretty Sweet and Manuel Latruwe…so while you’re chowing down on Chocolate Deluxe, you’ll also be able to grab some unreal donuts and macarons.

Thanks to @plantshopyyc for planting our ivy wall today! Soft opening in our restaurant space starts next Monday to Wednesday 9 AM to 4 PM.

On the other side, the Lukes exterior restaurant will be licensed come late November. If your studies are driving you to the point of drink, consider kicking back with a local beer, some natural wines, or maybe a few seasonal batch cocktails from Sugarwater Bar. Just don’t forget to grab some Kale Risotto or Daal while you’re at it.
