Happy Hour of the Week: Drinks and food under $5

Let the games begin, YYC! If hitting up a bar for some tasty drinks, swinging by the arcade for a few friendly games, and then grabbing some delicious street food to top it all off sounds good to you, then we have just the place in mind. This week’s Calgary Happy Hour of the Week is none other than GRETA!

With two levels of space (including a DJ and dance floor) and an atmosphere that is unlike anything the city has seen before, GRETA has definitely stolen our hearts. We’re pretty obsessed with their graffiti-covered walls, exposed brick arches, and wicked array of 50+ arcade games… But to be honest, it’s their drink and food specials that really win us over.

With a menu that goes from a Ginger Beef Bao Bun to a Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp Plate, there are global options for every appetite. Aaaand their tasty, unique cocktails aren’t too shabby either. So it’s pretty shocking that drinks start at only $3 and eats are $4 from Tuesday–Saturday, 3pm-6pm.

To give you the full lowdown, we’re talkin’ all house wine, beer and high balls for $3 from 3pm-4pm, for $4 from 4pm-5pm, and $5 from 5pm-6pm. Meanwhile, East Coast Chip Shop Fries, Plantain Chips and Greek Donuts are just 4 bucks!

But it doesn’t stop there. GRETA’s also got daily deals going! On Tuesday from 6pm on, all games are 1/2 price. There’s Hosted Game Night from 7pm-10pm too, where prizes are awarded for high scores and best vibes! Finally, GRETA Blonde + Brown from Wildrose Brewery is on for $5.

On Thursday it’s Adult Happy Meal night! From 6pm-close, you can grab $5 Street Nuggets, $5 house wine, and a $2 adult toy selection. Spicy, right? And also tasty. Those nugs do not disappoint.

Sunday is ReGRETA, AKA a wild, all-day industry and regulars party! Games and drinks are $5 and the ability to avoid Sunday Scaries is priceless.

So, you see? We’re obsessed with this place for a reason. Keep your eyes peeled for other pop up deals, GRETA does ’em all the time. And make sure you drop by for their Stampede set up… The bar will be decked out in all things Midway– from giant stuffed animals to hay bales, to live music, they are about to throw the greatest INDOOR show on Earth. They’ll be serving up Stampede themed menu items like Crocodile Nuggets, Kangaroo Sloppy Joes, Funfetti Corn Dogs, and glow-in-the-dark-neon Candy Apples.
