Hey, Calgary! New Year’s Eve is just around the corner which means a lot of you will be doing the whole “new year, new me” thing. January is the month of carb counting, lifting, and even sobriety, so this week, we’re suggesting one last pre-gym-selfie push. We’re talking bread, pasta, and above all else, $5 drinks at Bread and Circus on 17th Ave.
Let’s just jump right into our Happy hour of the Week, shall we?
HAPPY HOUR OF THE WEEK

Bread and Circus is basically a love letter to the Trattorias of Rome. The atmosphere is warm, the ambiance is amazing, and their staff is super friendly. They’re a hidden spot, but we think that’s part of the charm. You’ll find B+C tucked right in between Una Pizza and Wine and Frenchie Wine Bar on 17th Avenue.
As you can imagine, their resto is pretty intimate at only 34 seats, but what they lack in size they definitely make up for flavour. Their food is a modern take on longstanding recipes that date back generations. The pasta packs a serious punch, the garlic bread is off the hook, and the desserts are out of control. We’d recommend their cannolis.
Now, we’re going to level with you. During regular hours this restaurant can be a bit heavy on the wallet, depending on what you order of course. With that in mind, the happy hour at Bread and Circus is even more of a steal.

At Bread and Circus between the hours of 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm from Sunday to Wednesday, you can basically drink on a dime! Choose something off of their cocktail happy hour menu or have a glass of red, white or rosé, all for $5.
But wait, there’s more! We hope you didn’t think we hyped up their food without reason. This is happy hour, and there’s nothing that makes people happier than cheap food. So, check out their rotating menu of $5 food items, which you can get a taste of here.

We’re not sure why anyone would leave the carb-life behind (even for a short period of time, because resolutions aren’t forever.) But hey, to each their own. That just means there’s more pasta for us!
