Happy Hour of the Week: Sushi and Sake heaven
What’s up, Calgary? We’re back with another edition of the Happy Hour of the Week. We hope you all had a raucous good time this St. Patty’s weekend. You might be hurting from all the fun and hydration (ahem, green beers) you had over the weekend, but there’s nothing like the hair of the dog to get ya through another work week!
For our Happy Hour of the Week, we’ve chosen Goro + Gun. Located just below National on 8th, Goro + Gun is a hidden gem with some seriously impressive eats and a selection of 30 sakes. Their head chef, Tomo Mitsuno, is one of the rare chefs in Canada that is actually certified to prepare deadly blowfish (fugu). Impressive and scary, we are down for it.
Their regular menu is full of Japanese delicacies, but hey- that’s not what we’re here to talk about for today. We’re here to save a pretty penny because we don’t want to withhold the sweet pleasures of eating out.
Not only do they have some stellar drink specials, but they’ve also got a ton of food items ranging from $3 to $5.
Our picks are the Steamed Buns, Ahi Tuna Poke, and Tomo’s House Roll- all for only 5 buckeroos each! Wash it down with a $5 Omakase Cocktail, and you’ve got one of the happiest hours around.
