Happy Hour of the Week: $3 tacos and cocktails galore
Hey Calgary, we’re starting something new, just for you. Why? Because we care about you, and most importantly, we care about showing you the best deals in town. Every Sunday we will be releasing our Happy Hour of the Week pick to get you through the work week.
For our inaugural Happy Hour of the Week, we’ve chosen Gringo St. A staple on 17th ave, this hotspot is a go-to for Latin street food. With a ton of unique taco options (ahem, buffalo wing tacos), unreal cocktail combinations, and instagrammable wall art, this restaurant is Juan in a million.
They have fully loaded food and drink menus, that will make the taco and cocktail combinations endless. They have 24 2-ounce cocktails to choose from. Our favourites?
The Esy, made with gin, muddled grapes, thyme, lemon, and a shot dropper; Spicy Little Tart, made with mezcal, reposado tequila, blood orange, ancho chili syrup, and agave; Peruvian Marching Powder, made with pisco, brandy, passion fruit, pineapple, and egg white.
They also have 15 tacos, all innovative ‘lil taste explosions. Our top taco picks (can we even narrow it down?)? Cauliflower Cheese, with cheese sauce, brown butter bread crumbs, and tajin; Guinness Braised Short Rib, with burnt onion crema and sweet potato hay; Cheeseburger, topped with panko fried tomatillo and chipotle aioli. BRB, wiping the drool off of our desks.

At Gringo St, every day is Taco Tuesday, and we think that’s really beautiful. And yes, guac might be extra, but hey! Who cares about a guac surcharge when your tacos and cocktails are so affordable.
