What’s up Calgary, today marks the first day of Uncover Kensington, Calgary’s newest prix fixe food festival! Until Sunday, May 5th, you’ll be able to affordably eat your way through the neighbourhood’s food & drink scene.

Each participating restaurant has put together multi-course prix fixe menus ranging from $30 to $40, so you can get a taste of the best and brightest of the heart and soul of Kensington.

Naturally, they’ve chosen Kensington for their newest development. Uncover Kensington will be celebrating the introduction of the neighbourhood’s most anticipated new condo residence, The Theodore.

MODERN STEAK

Starting off the list, we’ve got Modern Steak. A classic steakhouse with a modern twist, serving high-quality meat in a loungey vibe that breaks the mold in more ways than one.

Cost: $40 per person + GST + Gratuity

• First Course: White Prawns: Oceanwise Selva Prawns, Garlic White Wine Sauce, Cherry Tomato
• Second Course: 8oz Wild Rose Angus Grass Fed Striploin: Decadent Mashed Potato, Seasonal Vegetables
• Third Course: Lemon Meringue Tart: Lemon Curd, Berry Coulis, Toasted Meringue

VENDOME CAFE

Experience a taste of Europe in the neighbourhood’s most charming cafe, while enjoying their artisanal fare made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Cost: $30 per person + GST + Gratuity

• First Course: Market Greens: Artisan lettuce, seasonal vegetables, grana padano, sweet dark balsamic vinaigrette OR Soup of the Day: Served with Alforno Bakery toasted focaccia
• Second Course: Duck Confit Panini: Pulled duck confit, caramelized onion, truffle aioli
• Third Course: Tiramisu: Teatro family recipe

OXBOW RESTAURANT

Located in the beautiful Hotel Arts Kensington, you can sip & savour in the comfort of Oxbow’s vibrant space while dining on their chef-driven menu and taking in Bow River views.

Cost: $40 + GST + Gratuity

• First Course: Legume Risotto: pea and bacon puree, Avonlea cheddar, crispy chickpeas
• Second Course: Roasted Porchetta: roasted garlic chimichurri, roasted Haricot vert, hazelnut pesto, corn polenta, maple mustard jus
• Third Course: Chocolate Cream Puffs with vanilla pastry cream and salted caramel ice cream

BRASSERIE KENSINGTON

A Canadian twist on a French classic, with sharing plates inspired by seasonally fresh local ingredients.
