Well, folks, the Canada Brewing Awards were over the weekend, and man, was it clear that the rest of the country has seen what we already know and love about our province. Without a doubt, Alberta has some of the best craft beer from coast to coast! In fact, Alberta officially has the BEST brewery in Canada!
With winning 3 additional gold medals on Saturday for their North American-style wheat beer, scotch ale, and brown ale; Calgary’s Common Crown Brewing Co., also took home the title of the best brewery in the country!
“We were completely astounded. I think we’re all still in shock, to be completely honest with you,” Damon Moreau, co-founder, general manager, and one of two twins who own Common Crown told CBC.

Other big Alberta winners of the evening included Calgary’s Cabin Brewing and Edmonton’s Bent Stick Brewing, both of which contributed to an incredible 39 awards that were proudly accepted by the beer masters of the prairies.
Honestly, folks, we could not be more proud of everything that our local brewmasters have accomplished.
If we’re going to be number one in something, it certainly isn’t a bad thing that it’s beer.
