We live in a city swimming in options when it comes to places to grab a bite. Month after month, it seems like a whole new lineup of must-try restaurants and eateries pop up…but we aren’t complaining! Instead, we’re lining the new spots up so you and your appetite can knock ’em down. Here are 6 new Calgary restaurants you have to try out.

LATELY

This brand-spankin’ new restaurant and bar is elegant, unique and super modern. Their menu is small but it’s got all of the essentials! Tacos, nachos, meatballs, truffle fries? That all sounds pretty good to us. Plus, it’s about time the west side of 17th Ave got a new spot to check out.

TAIKO CANTEEN

Minigolf, Bao Tacos, and Zilford’s Fried Chicken? If that doesn’t get your attention, we don’t know what will. This un-restaurant has over 3,000 square feet of industrial space set up for plenty of fun and fried food. Before finding a forever home, Taiko worked its magic out of a truck serving up Asian-inspired street foods. And although they’ve come a long way from stop-signs and stick shifts, Taiko Canteen has plenty of originality and charm itself.

HART HEALTHY FOOD

This farm-to-table restaurant is owned and operated by Calgary royalty. Alex Hart, daughter of WWE legend Bret “the Hitman” Hart, has launched this space in the heart of downtown Calgary. The resto perfectly combines home-cooked comfort and health-conscious choices, to serve up some tasty eats that look as good as you’ll feel.

MELO EATERY

Iron Chef contestant and owner of Foreign Concept Duncan Ly has blessed Calgary with another tasty spot! Seriously, this guy must not sleep. Thanks, Mr.Ly! Melo puts a contemporary spin on classic French cuisine, delish, and the energetic environment makes for an exciting night as fun-filled as your wine glass.
