6 hidden gems at GRETA you need to know about

Via @gretabaryycCuriocity Group Inc.

Hey Calgary, unless you’ve been hiding under a rock the past few months, you’ve probably heard of GRETA. It’s Calgary’s first ever arcade-eatery-bar to let loose, put down your phones, and forget about the 9 to 5.

Whether you’re tearing down the dancefloor on a Saturday night or partaking in some friendly competition with some pals, we want to make sure you’re making the most out of your time there. We’ve compiled our favourite hidden gems at GRETA. so enjoy!

Soju Buckets

This bucket can be shared between two or more people and is the best way to kick start your night at GRETA. You can choose from a variety of flavours or soju, and it’s served in a serve-yourself bowl with Red Bull. If Red Bull gives you wings, then this deadly combination will have you flying all night long.

Flowers for GRETA

Pisco and St. Germain make up the base of this cocktail, and then it’s shaken with citrus, vanilla syrup, Angostura and egg whites. This drink is part of their Dad Drinks menu, and it’ll surely have people calling your daddy in no time.

½ Priced Games on Tuesdays and $5/hour games on Sundays

Whether you’re snapping pics in the photo booth, sniping headshots in the Walking Dead game, or scoring hoops at the basketball nets, burning game credits can be hard on your wallet. Make the most of your game cards on Tuesdays and Sundays! On Tuesday nights, games are ½ priced, and on Sundays, you can get $5/hour games. If that isn’t a sweet deal, we’re not sure what is.

Their Happy Hour

Everyone loves a good happy hour, especially when prices drop as low as $3. YES, $3. Their happy hour is ridiculous, and structured like this: 3pm-4pm house wine, beer, and highballs are $3. 4pm-5pm house wine, beer, and highballs are $4. 5pm-6pm house wine, beer, and highballs are $5. During these times, head to the food truck to pick up some East Coast Chip Shop Fries, Plantain Chips and Greek Donuts, which will only set you back $4.

Korean Noodle Box (Jap Chae)

GRETA’s menu is filled with global-inspired street eats, packaged in a way that makes it easy to play games while chowing down. Everything on their menu is delicious, but seriously guys, this dish takes the cake for our favourite. The Jap Chae is made with glass noodles and mixed with an addictive sauce, traditional veg, and topped with sesame seeds.

The Dance Floor

Okay, this one might not be a hidden gem, but it is in the basement, so we’re going to count it anyways. Also, everyone needs a good d-floor throwdown once in a while, so limber up folks- it’s time to let loose. Bust a move on Friday and Saturday nights as the DJ will be spinning beats so spicy, they’ll be sure to have you moving in no time.

Alright, pals, that’s all we’ve got for now! We’ll report back when we inevitably run (or stumble?) into any other hidden gems our next night out at GRETA.
