5 new spots to check out in Calgary this Weekend
Hey there, party people! We’re finally heading into the weekend, now we’re not psychic or anything but we think it’s going to be a pretty great one. Not only is Calgary alive with Grey Cup anticipation, but YYC’s bustling social scene also has a few new faces! Well… new versions of their old faces, which is still really exciting! Here are 5 new (ish) spots you have to check out this weekend!
Hotel Arts – Year-Round Pool
This Sunday, kick off the holiday season… with a Grey Cup pool party! Yep, you read that right, Hotel Arts has renovated its pool area to give guests the summer experience in the dead of winter. Don’t let the fear of frostbite keep you from having the time of your life though, the renovations included a winter roof, that will be removed when it gets a little bit warmer in Calgary.

Takori in the Beltline
Award-winning Chef Duncan Ly has added another resto to his resume. The Top Chef contestant has notoriously opened several different restaurants in Calgary, one of them being Takori! A casual and tasty Asian fusion taqueria. One Takori location already sits in the Avenida Food Hall and now the second location has conveniently popped up in Calgary’s Beltline.

Home and Away Grand Re-opening Weekend
It’s comeback season! After a six-month hiatus, Home and Away is back! The sportiest of sports bars closed back in June, devastating some. But fret not! H&W has risen from the dead. This weekend, enjoy some tasty bar bites, jumbo board games, and crowd of superfans. It’ll be just like old times, just in a different building!

17th Ave is construction free! The downtown hotspot has completed road construction just in time for the holiday season! All stores and restaurants are completely operational and ready for all of your gift shopping, icy pub crawls, and date nights.
Pie Junkie in Mahogany
Now you can take your pie to stay! Pie Junkie in Mahogany has added a pie bar! Grab a little slice of heaven, and hang in with a cup of organic loose leaf tea, or locally sourced coffee! Maybe try something off of their holiday menu, perhaps?
