Seriously upgrade your spirit knowledge at Shelter’s cocktail class

Get in a sippin’ mood, Calgary– the monthly 90-minute cocktail class at Shelter is coming up. We’re talkin’ history, we’re talkin’ fun facts, and we’re talkin’ about a real treat for your taste buds.
In this course, Shelter delves into the rich history of cocktails and the base spirits that comprise them. From mixology’s origins in the 1800s back to the gin craze of 1695 and through prohibition, this class doesn’t skip on any deets. Finish your trip down memory lane with the craft cocktail resurgence of the early 2000s (and maybe a little bit of Britney).

If you’ve ever wondered how booze affected the development of Western society, don’t worry– you’ll learn. What’s more, you’ll pick up some facts about the history and flavour profiles of different spirits. Look at you, all smart and educated!
The class includes three cocktails, muddling, stirring, shaking, and smoking techniques, class competitions, and a takeaway cocktail survival guide. For just $65 per person, we think it’s a pretty unreal deal.
See you sippers there!
