Last chance to get tickets for tonight’s holiday movie for charity event!
If you’re looking to catch a holiday classic AND to feel extra good about it, we’ve got the perfect night out for you. A screening of It’s a Wonderful Life will take place at Kensington’s Plaza Theatre on Wednesday, December 11th, and all proceeds will be going to Habitat for Humanity.
Obviously, It’s a Wonderful Life is a bonafide classic, so this is a no-brainer for cinephiles or a date night with holiday feels. Also, this event aims to allow for plenty of self-reflection amongst the viewers.
The event is being thrown by Ashlea Cook, who found inspiration after attending holiday screenings of It’s a Wonderful Life in New York City’s West Village.
She definitely holds the experience in high regard, saying ” it was honestly such a magical experience, and you left feeling changed for the better. It felt weird not seeing the movie in theaters around the holidays, so I thought to myself why not bring it to Calgary? But instead of just having it be a typical movie night, could it be made into an evening of good cause?”
Well, we’re certainly with you there, Ashlea! The event is ticket-by-donation and valued at $15, so feel free to give whatever you can. Remember, it all goes to Habitat for Humanity!
