Canmore to set off New Year’s fireworks for the entire town tonight

2020 has completely flipped the holidays on their head. Luckily for Canmore locals, despite neighbouring cities cancelling their big NYE events, the town has decided that they’ll still go forward with a New Year’s Eve fireworks display… There is a bit of a catch, though!
In order for this to be a safe, physically distanced show, Canmore has actually decided to set them off from a secret location – which is pretty genius if you ask us!

As per Alberta’s current COVID guidelines, both indoor and outdoor gatherings have been banned, which is why many of the bigger cities – where it’s impossible to keep a secret – have just decided to cancel. It’s simple, really! If no one knows where to gather… they probably won’t!
Canmore’s fireworks are set to go off at 9 pm, and will actually be in sync with music played on their local radio station 106.5 Mountain FM so keep your eye’s on the skies and your ears tuned in!
