Calgary’s StoryBook Theatre will stream live performances of Annie The Musical this winter
It’s been a hard-knock life for us. Luckily, despite the precautions and all of our fears, artists have committed to keeping us entertained throughout the last few months. We’ve seen quarantine concerts and virtual table readings, but the fun doesn’t stop there. This month, Calgarians can sing along to Storybook Theatre’s Annie!
“As an artistic team, we hope that bringing the magic of ‘live’ theatre to the living rooms of many will help spread some much-needed joy and positivity, “said Jayme Armstrong, Director of this production said in a release.

If you guys have never seen one of many versions of the beloved story, first off – how? Secondly, here’s a rundown.
The story takes place in 1930 New York and follows Annie, an orphan who, along with other girls awaiting a new set of parents, gets mistreated by Miss Hannigan; the cruel mistress who runs the place. Once adopted by a wealthy upper-class family, Annie’s life changes dramatically – but so does that of her new caretakers.
“Annie’s infectious personality has the ability to change the perceptions of those around her as she shares her hope for a better tomorrow.”
Ah… a better tomorrow.
Since we’re waiting for that day to come anyway, why not check it out! We’ve got the time – and we can’t stress enough how important it is to support community programs like this one right now.
