Calgary’s ‘Miracle on 1st Street’ Christmas pop-up bar looks INSANE

Ready to get so festive it will literally hurt the next day? The magical Miracle on 1st Street pop up bar is coming to Calgary! Because nothing says “happy birthday Jesus” like holiday hiccups and Fa-la-la-lling on the floor after a few Christmas spirits.

The halls are going to be so decked during this event, you guys. The tables are all first come first serve, and Proof (where it’s being held) is a pretty tight space. That’s the only downside. It’s worth it though! Anyone lucky enough to snag a spot will enjoy an incredible night of Christmas music, lights, themed cocktails and a ton of garland.

It all started in New York in 2014 when owner Greg Boehm halted construction of his cocktail bar when his mom told him it needed a theme. A holiday theme just made sense, we guess? Decorations can be pretty cheap…

It’s a little bizarre, but its been extremely successful! The bar born out of a mother’s recommendation and a son’s spontaneity has made a killing in places like Atlanta, Miami, and San Fransisco. All cities known for their nightlife and pop-ups.

So let’s get elfin’ weird, Calgary! Wear your ugliest sweater, ogle the lights and bows and drink your way through December out of Santa Claus’s face! It’ll be the best night you won’t remember.
