Hey pro-Olympics bidders! All hope is not lost. Well, it is for the Olympics, but we’re talking about bigger picture here, since The X Games are (probably) coming to Calgary!
Ol’ Cowtown just secured the exclusive rights to host the X Games over the next three years. What does that mean? Well, a whole lotta amazing snowboarding, skiing, and snowmobiling will be coming our way faster than you can say “shred it, brOooOo!”. (That is, assuming we can snag some corporate sponsorships.)

If everything does go as planned, this would be the first X Games hosted on Canadian snow. Crazy, since our country is literally known for its winters, but whatever. We’re not that salty about it.
A successful games here could result in a $75 million boost annual economic activity, roughly 75K total spectators for each year, and over 10K out-of-region visitors… so basically, this could be really, really good for us.
Everything would be starting late February/early March 2020, which really isn’t so far at all. Fingers crossed that the City of Calgary and Government of Alberta pull through on this one!
