Downtown after dark? Next time you find yourself in the inner city past bedtime – look up! Calgary’s TELUS Sky art installation and the largest exhibit in all of YYC, lit up the core for the first time this weekend and will continue to do so every evening until the bulbs give out.

With over 2.2 kilometres of LED lighting, Northern Lights, by artist Douglas Coupland is honestly one of the most unique additions to the city’s skyline since the Saddledome.

Don’t just take our word for it though! People on Twitter seemed to lose their minds over the gigantic display as well, praising the artist (and YYC) for the larger-than-life piece.

From now until maybe ever – this 160,000 square-foot light display will run every day from one hour before sunset until 11 pm. Heck, it’ll even feature different shows depending on the season – so keep an eye out for that as well!

Welcome to the Skyline, TELUS Sky! We can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for our peepers.

TELUS SKY ART INSTALLATION – NORTHERN LIGHTS
