Here’s a quick question: What are your thoughts on aliens? Do you think they exist? Or, better yet, if they do exist, should we welcome them with open arms? Well, no matter how you feel, the town of St. Paul, Alberta, has been waiting for them with open arms since 1967 – the year that the town built the world’s first UFO Landing Pad.

You may have noticed that the aforementioned year is actually Canada’s Centennial. That isn’t an accident. In fact, the UFO Landing Pad/Welcoming Site includes stones from all of the provinces in Canada. Presumably to ensure that if and when aliens come to visit, they know the whole country says hello. We’re friendly folks, after all.

The town of St. Paul had a dream when celebrating Canada’s 100th birthday, that beings from this world and the next would all be welcome in this town. So, why not build a UFO Landing Pad? The Canadian government agreed, and St. Paul was actually named as the official Centennial Captial of Canada. Wow, the more you know!

The UFO Landing Pad in St. Paul also has an information centre beside it with some very interesting UFO memorabilia. You can find photos, stories, and just about anything you’d want (pertaining to UFO’s, of course) inside this exhibit.

If you’re interested in checking out this spot for yourself, you should know it’s located about 2 hours northeast of Edmonton. Sure, that might be a long trip from wherever you are, but just think how far the aliens would have to travel.
