Oh, Canada! Happy Birthday, you old gal! It’s no secret that no matter where you are, this year will look a bit different in the streets, but don’t you fret! In just a few clicks, we can take you from your couch, to a concert, a display of fireworks and lights, and to the kitchens of the country’s elite all in celebration of July 1st. Here are 7 virtual Canada Day Events happening today!

LIVE FROM CALGARY A CANADA DAY CONCERT 

Let’s kick off this month with a BANG. Featuring pre-recorded performances by local legend Paul Brandt, as well as Lynn Olagundoye, T Buckley, Chad Van Gaalen, and Bebe Buckskin, Calgary comes to you from inside the Studio Bell Centre. For those living in Calgary, in addition to the concert the city is also encouraging the public to wear red and white, then light up the night by setting up and then turning on their Christmas lights around 10 pm.

 ‘FIRE ON THE LAKE’ CANADA DAY FIREWORKS

Alright, so this one will be a day late because the weather was not working in favour of anyone this year, but it’ll still be hella impressive! Alberta’s impressive Canada Day Firework display, Fire on the Lake will be live-streamed July 2nd, in honour of Canada’s big day! After all, you know what they say…  The show must go on!
