Netflix working on a scripted series about life during the COVID pandemic

Does life imitate art, or does art imitate life? Netflix announced this week that they’re working with the creator of Orange Is the New Black to create a new anthology series called Social Distance about life during the Coronavirus pandemic. Swell.
This quickly thought up show will be scripted and shot with crews working remotely to help the actors film themselves. Each story will follow characters living in 2020, and tell “deeply human stories” that illustrate our incredible ability to come together while living apart.

“Our job as storytellers is to reflect reality, and in this new, bizarre, bewildering reality we are all experiencing, we feel passionate about finding connection as we all remain at a distance,” Netflix said in a public Twitter statement.
“Through a broad spectrum of tales and moments, some seismic and some mundane, we hope to capture a moment in time. And we hope that Social Distance will help people feel closer to one another.”
We’ve all thought about what it would be like to have a movie made about our lives, but we’re not sure this is what anyone had in mind?
They haven’t yet announced who will star in the series or when it will air, but we’ll keep you guys updated. Social Distance is currently the only thing in the works for Netflix, as their other shows including the Witcher and Stranger Things have been postponed due to the virus.
Wowza, this should be an interesting one to follow, folks.
