Bret “The Hitman” Hart was tackled by a crazed fan while giving his WWE Hall of Fame speech on Saturday night. Now, there are a few ways to get the entire city of Calgary angry, but shoddily attempting to RKO outta nowhere our favourite wrestler is one of the dumbest. Sure, the 61-year-old Hart might be sporting grey locks and less agility than his younger self, but we’re still pretty certain he could handle any and all comers. We’re even more sure that attacking someone with the nickname “The Hitman” is, like, an actual deathwish.

We’re not going to publish the attacker’s name, or even throw up his picture, but we’ll let the below video speak for itself. Safe to say that attacking a “fake-fighting” legend, while he’s surrounded by his peers, will result in a very real beatdown.

Don’t start stressing though, Hart is up and running just fine. He spoke with the New York Post and redirected all concern to thanking the fans and supporters who came to support him in the first place. Class act, as always.

When the tackle happened, Hart was in the middle of honouring his late tag-team partner Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart.

In an Instagram post after the incident, Hart wrote: “if there’s one thing I want everyone to take away from the Hall of Fame ceremony is not so much what happened, but how I wasn’t going to let anything stop me from completing my tribute to my best friend and our team”. That’s the legendary Bret Hart we know and love, that’s for sure.
