This year’s Calgary International Film Festival will really be shaking things up. In addition to a part of the event taking place online in order to include those more comfortable at home, CIFF has also enlisted the help of local artists to engage creatives as well as die-hard movie fans and their wallets.
This weekend, 10 one-of-a-kind movie posters will be displayed at the Cineplex in Eau Claire, all of which were designed by an illustrator based here in Calgary. Pretty cool right?

These posters have been reimagined, modernized and depict film favourites including the Big Lebowski, Midsommar, and Parasite among others.
Smaller versions of each poster will be available for $20 and original, full-sized, professionally-framed movie posters will be up for auction! The best part? 25% of the final auction price will actually go back to the artist! We think they deserve it.
Now, if you miss this weekend’s gallery, but are still interested in checking them out, or in placing a bid – don’t fret! All posters will be moved to Common Bond on 8th avenue, and can be seen anytime between September 28th and October 4th!
Check it out, Calgary! Support local artists, catch a flick, and take home your very own slice of YYC history! Sounds like a pretty productive day to us!
