Broadway hit “Chicago” will play in Calgary this month for 2 days only!
Get ready for that “ol’ razzle dazzle!” Broadway’s second longest-running musical in history, Chicago, will be in Calgary on stage at the Jubilee Auditorium this March!
Based on a true story, Chicago follows Roxie Hart, an aspiring starlet, Velma Kelly, a has-been, and their showstopping lawyer, Billy Flynn on a theatrical journey from prison to trial after they’ve both been accused of murder.

The show first appeared on stage in 1975 and ran for 936 performances before taking a hiatus. It was then revised in 1996 and has run strong ever since, making it one of Broadway’s most successful musicals, only coming second to The Phantom of the Opera. In 2002, it was also adapted into a film starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renée Zellweger and Richard Gere, which went on to win several Academy Awards. Basically, we’re saying this is a must-see show, alright?
Unfortunately, this 1920s dramedy about murder, infidelity and jazz will only play three performances over two days at the end of this month, and in our opinion, that’s not nearly enough. But hey, we guess “that’s showbiz… kid.”
