Buckle up, kids. We’re about to make an assumption based on things we’ve read on the internet, which hardly ever ends well. See, we’re pretty sure that Brad Pitts’s production company is filming it’s very first Amazon original TV series, Outer Range, right here in Alberta. This could be pretty cool, because… Brad Pitt. It’s not confirmed but honestly, it would all make perfect sense considering the following:

First off, as of right now, a show called Outer Range has been listed on the Directors Guild of Canada Rumour list. The DGC is a company that represents people in the film and television industry. These guys are on their oats when it comes to Hollywood happenings in our little province.

Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment, announced a partnership with Amazon Studios to work on a thriller series called Outer Range. Finally, the show is about a Wyoming rancher fighting for his land and family when he discovers an unfathomable mystery in the Wilderness.

Alberta is a popular spot for wilderness-type movies. It’s also a heck of a lot cheaper than filming in the States. Brokeback Mountain, The Revenant, and The Assassination of Jesse James were all shot here. Which, if you remember, actually starred Brad Pitt. Coincidence? We think not.

Now, did Brad Pitt have anything to do with picking the location and will he actually have anything to do with it directly? We’re not sure. Either way, it sounds like a pretty cool project and it’s always fun to see our back yard in any movie or TV show. Also, there has not been a single cast announcement yet. The possibilities are endless, and the door is wide open. Amazon has some friends in high places.

There you have it. We’ll keep you guys updated if anything notable happens!
