Be honest– you’ve been obsessing over Game of Thrones. We all have… and when it comes to know-nothing Jon Snow, we were eager to see if his doggo (wolfo?) companion would make a cameo. And he did! Thanks to a Calgary film crew, in fact. Great work guys.
If you watched the second episode of Season 8, you know that Ghost didn’t do a whole lot. But he did stand in the background cutely, which is more than we got in Season 7. As the final remaining Night’s Watch members discussed a battle plan, the white direwolf chilled nearby.

Though the YYC producer in charge couldn’t give any deets about how or when they completed the wolf scene, it was confirmed that the Calgary film unit was behind it. And according to Linda Ambury, rep from the Calgary Film Centre, the experience was “super cool”. Yeah, we bet.
You might be wondering why HBO would use Cowtown crews for their show, but it makes sense when you realize where Ghost’s real-life counterpart lives. Quigley, a nine-year-old Arctic wolf, usually hangs out north of Calgary at Simpson’s Instinct Ranch. As such, he does most of his acting work nearby.
We hear he’s a very good boy.
