9 places to watch the Toronto Raptors in Calgary tonight!

Are you a die hard Raps fan, jumping on the bandwagon, or just catching a serious case of basketball fever? Doesn’t matter. You’re probably tuning into game 6 tonight. We’ve put together a little list of the best places in Calgary to watch the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals!

Calgary’s own Jurassic Park

Weather permitting, YYC Food Trucks and East Village are organizing another free, all ages viewing party. Start the night off with some pick-up basketball at 5:00 PM, then head down to Crossroads Plaza in EV for the viewing. You’ll be joined by some classic food trucks like Taiko Taco and Family Squeezed, so make sure you grab some eats and get ready to cheer on the Raps.

The Guild

Not an obvious choice, but a good choice! Take a stroll along Stephen Ave before settling into a seat near the bar to catch the game and dine in on some very, very, very tasty grub. Not only that, but you can and grab a half-price bottle from the Cellar Selects list from 2 – 9 pm today. Not a bad way to enjoy the Raptors!

National on 17th

Hanging out in the heart of the Red Mile is great during Flames games, but you best believe 17th is lighting up for the Raptors games too. Honestly, we’ll throw the Ship and Anchor in here too (since it’s the best pub in the city), but we do think National might be a little more accommodating for this game.

Home & Away

It’s one of the best sports bars in town and it’s on 17th Avenue. There is a massive projection screen at one end, along with carnival basketball games for you to hone your own skills during the intermission.

Cineplex

Head on over to cheer on the Raptors at Cineplex Odeon Eau Claire and Scotiabank Theatre Chinook. Honestly though, is there a better way to watch a game than on a hundred-foot screen with a mouthful of theatre popcorn? We didn’t think so. Oh, and it’s FREE!

The Unicorn

Wondering where that loud music is coming from? It’s probably The Unicorn. With 3 floors, 3 bars, and 1 heck of a crowd, this place is perfect to get your rowdy on. Good luck getting a table here, it’s a popular spot so book ASAP.

Joyce on 4th

Joyce had actually set up a brand new TV on the patio for Flames Playoff games, but we all know how that turned out. Well, let’s not let a good bar go to waste! The interior is stacked with TV’s too, so don’t stress about where to find your spot. Just get there early!

Schanks North & South

If size matters for your viewing experience. Schanks is the place for you. Massive TV’s line each and every wall of these bars that are both practically the size of Scotiabank Centre.

Neighbourhood Bars

Not downtown? No worries! Practically every neighbourhood in Calgary has a pub or two that will have a solid Raptors setup. Plus, save the money you’d spend on getting downtown for another pint. It’s a perfect situation!

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with just about any bar in town. Heck, you can’t go wrong with watching from your couch! No matter how you do it, cheer loud.
