Spend Family Day Weekend with Peppa Pig at the Zoo
Hey Calgary, got kids, nieces, nephews? Looking at Family Day Weekend wondering how the heck you’re going to keep them entertained? Well, look no further, because the Calgary Zoo has got all the family fun and entertainment you’ll need!
First, you’ll want to start your day off right with a family-friendly event in the Enmax Atrium! To celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Pig, the Calgary Zoo is hosting one of Treehouse TV’s most popular shows, Peppa Pig.
Peppa and her little brother George will be greeting fans, taking photos from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Don’t forget your camera, people, this is a perfect memory to capture and the fun won’t be stopping there either, because they will be bringing a ton of games and activities with them!
If your family isn’t familiar with the daily adventures, friendships, and muddy puddles of this popular Treehouse show, don’t worry- this is the perfect opportunity to get to know the two piglets! The show follows Peppa, George, and their parents (and lots of other families), helping children understand the emotions and unique experiences of growing up! If that isn’t the perfect gang to hang out with over Family Day weekend, then we aren’t sure who is.
By now you’ve probably worked up an appetite and the little ones could definitely use an energy boost, so swing by Kitamba Cafe to refuel. After a morning of fun with Peppa, we know you’ll want something hearty to munch on. With the largest selection at the Zoo, there is something for every type of appetite on Kitamba’s delightful menu.
Once the kiddos’ hearts and tummies are full, you’ll probably want to tucker them out with a walk around the Zoo grounds checking out the different exhibits. If your children are feeling extra energetic, make sure you stop by the Kinsmen Zooventure Playground, located between Destination Africa and the Dairy Bar. You’ll be able to grab a seat and relax while the little munchkins whiz around animal themed mazes and tunnels and zip down the many slides.
