Whether you’re Irish, a fan of pubs, or just a fan of beer, you’re likely going to be filling your weekend with St. Patty’s Day activities. We’ve teamed up with the Calgary Roughnecks to bring you the roughest and the rowdiest list of activities going on this weekend, in true fighting Irish spirit.
Whiskey lovers unite

All weekend long, Shelter will be getting in the St. Patty’s spirit by serving up three Irish Whiskey cocktails and offering whiskey tasting flights. This way you’ll be able to explore whiskey from different regions across Ireland.
Where: Shelter– 1210 1 Street SW
When: March 14 to 17
Saturday night party with the Roughnecks

Roughnecks games on Saturday nights are the perfect pregame to any night out in Calgary. Why? Dome foams, contact sports and bumpin’ tunes the whole game, what’s not to love? The game is fully St. Patrick’s Day themed, with a ton of Irish fun from start to finish. First, you’ll have to head down to the concourse.
From 5 to 7 pm you can play pub games and stop by the themed photo booth to snap a few pics! If you’re there between 5-5: 30 pm, you can snag a free food and beverage item too! You’ll be able to choose between a complimentary cheeseburger, pizza slice or hot dog, AND a Bud or Bud Light, 1 oz highball or a pop!
If you don’t make it in time for the free item, you can still hit up the concessions to take advantage of the $5 Rough House Specials. Right until 7 pm, you can get Budweiser & Bud Light, highballs, 6 oz. house wine, cheeseburgers, pizza slices, mini mac ‘n’ cheese, and a pop & hot dog combo for only $5 each! Once the game starts, they’ll be using the luck of the Irish to take down their opponents. At halftime, the Calgary Fiddlers will be putting on a unique halftime show to really pump up the crowd.
Where: Scotiabank Saddledome– 555 Saddledome Rise SE
When: Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 pm
Cost: $15 Student Zone, $20 Rough House Reserved, $46.50 general tickets
Zero lucks given at Cowboys

Continue the party after the game by strolling (or maybe stumbling, no judgment) over to Cowboys Dance Hall. With a quick flash of your Roughnecks game ticket, you’ll get in with no line no cover! Between 9 – 11 pm it’s the Cowboys Rush Hour, and everything is only $3!
Where: Cowboys Dancehall, 421 12 Ave SE
When: 9 pm to close
Batey’s Boozy Brunch

This brunch series is back by popular demand! Kicking off the first edition of 2019, Teatro’s Executive Chef Matthew Batey is preparing a boozy St. Patty’s themed brunch with Charbar’s Jessica Pelland. Two ticket options are available, the “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” which does not include alcohol (boo), and the “Feelin’ Lucky” which does include alcohol. We’re hoping you’re feeling lucky because what St. Patty’s Day doesn’t kick off without a little hair of the dog?!
Where: Teatro Ristorante– 200 8 Ave SE
When: Sunday, March 17 at 11 am
Cost: $65 (without booze) and $115 (with booze) + taxes
Live music at the Ship

The Ship is a great place to be every day of the year, and this one especially rocks the boat. There will be 13 full hours of live music by a ton of local Irish bands, so grab your green and get down there for one hell of a celebration. They’ll also be serving up some stellar Irish food specials all day long.
Where: Ship and Anchor Pub– 534 17 Ave SW
When: Sunday, March 17 from 10 am to 1 am
Get down at the Rose & Crown

Live music? Duh. Irish dancers? Definitely. Bagpipers? Oh hell yeah. You might find bagpipes slightly annoying 364 days of the year, but for St. Patty’s Day– this is their day. Sit back, grab a pint (or two, or three if you’re feeling Irish), and take in the Irish festivities.
Where: Rose & Crown– 1503 4 St SW
When: Sunday, March 17 from 11 am to 2 am
Sin & Gin with Rainbows & Gold

Grab your pals and your lucite heels for Mikey’s on 12th’s monthly Sin & Gin. This time they’ll be celebrating St. Patty’s in style with their Rainbows & Gold themed burlesque, dance and cabaret show. The night will be filled with music, comedy, entertainment, and a heck of a lot of glitter.
Where: Mikey’s on 12th– 918 12 Ave SW

Knoxville’s is having the biggest Sunday night St. Patty’s Day party to finish the weekend off with a bang. You’ll be sipping on $4 Twisted Teas and $2 pints of green beer while Brazilian DJ and producer Lothief spins tracks all night long. You’ll also have the chance to win a $500 Twisted Tea Pot of Gold!
