Calling all sports lovers/soccer fans/beer drinkers, we’ve got a new and exciting sport coming to Calgary. Now that our hockey season has ended, we’re just itching for a new local team to cheer on. The Cavalry FC is Calgary’s pro soccer team, playing their first ever game this Saturday, May 4th!
This game will be kicking off (literally) their first season in the Canadian Pro League.

Cavalry FC is all about “blending the principles of its founders, focusing on tradition, community and family.” These values are not only deeply rooted in those of Spruce Meadows, but Calgary itself. This team is about bringing neighbours together, bonding over the love of a sport and one another.
That makes us not only happy but proud, to be cheering on the Cavalry FC as Calgary’s newest pro sports team, as they’ve made their home at Spruce Meadows’ brand-spankin’ new pitch: ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows. This soccer pitch is nestled on the Southern border of the Spruce Meadows property, which has been critically transformed.
It’s surrounded by beautiful walking paths, showjumping rings, and classic Spruce Meadows buildings giving the pitch scenic views and a truly unique background.

Whether you’re content watching the game from your seats, or walking to go grab a beer or two (or three, let’s be real), you’ll be able to watch the game from all over. At Spruce Meadows, efficiency is key. You’ll be able to hop out to the Central Plaza for food & drink and be back in your seats in no time.
If you like to take your time, that’s no sweat either. There are massive screens set up in the plaza, so take your time picking your food and not even miss a beat.

Well, friends, that’s all we have for now. If you want to find out more- check out their first game for yourself! If you can’t make this one, be sure to check out their full schedule here. Stay tuned for our exclusive look at the stadium coming to you next week!
