Pumpkins have a special place in our hearts, but we understand that Fall isn’t only about these round festive orange squashes. Once you’ve gotten your share of pumpkin patches with the fam, why not check out these other family-friendly activities in Calgary? We’ve teamed up with our good pals, the Calgary Hitmen to give you some activities the whole family can enjoy this fall.
The Calgary Hitmen are Calgary’s major junior ice hockey team who play at the Scotiabank Saddledome. This year, they’ve brought back their popular Sunday Funday’s for a load of family-friendly fun! They have themed nights, special guests, and activities before and after the game making this the perfect activity for little energetic hockey lovers!

The Hitmen have teamed up with Ricky’s All Day Grill for some family fun! Every Sunday home game is Sunday Funday at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Face painting, balloon animals, and post-game skate on the Saddledome ice are just some of the many activities!

Curious George: The Golden Meatball
Watch everyone’s fav monkey sing and dance up a storm about his favorite day of the year – All-You-Can-Eat Meatball Day. This musical will have kids singing and swinging down the aisles.

Body Worlds: Animal Inside Out
Get under nature’s skin at Spark! See the intricate biology and physiology of over 100 of the world’s most spectacular animals. The animals have all been donated and preserved (none were harmed or killed) to allows us to appreciate their bodies’ intricacies.

Calgary Festival of Crafts
Experience competition up close and personal and in the indoor comfort of the Equi-Plex. Watch horses and riders jump heights from 0.08m to 1.40m. Grab a snack at the concession to complete the experience.

Disney on Ice
Mickey’s Search Party is coming to Calgary! Join Mickey Mouse and his friends in a brand new adventure. The show is filled with skating, acrobatics, and unexpected stunts!

Star Gaze and Milky Way Night
Bundle up and bring little curious astronomers to Rothney Astrophysical Observatory to learn about what lies beyond our atmosphere. See one of the three largest telescopes in Canada and tour the Baker-Nunn patrol camera which scans the skies for killer asteroids.

107th CFL Grey Cup & Festival
Calgary has promised that this will be a Grey Cup to remember, so expect plenty of parties and activities popping off around the city. From tailgating parties to family-friendly days and events, there will be no shortage of fun to be had.
