Well, hello there, everybody! We’ve got a new edition of our Neighbourhood Guides, and this time we’re going to explore the quaint little spot in Calgary that is Bridgeland. It’s been around forever, it’s had its ups and downs, but at the end of the day, it’s a local favourite. Let’s see what there is to do and see during a day in Bridgeland.

Grab a Breakfast

Now, if you are unfamiliar with Bridgeland, you might not know that it has a couple of the best breakfast spots in the entire city. If you are familiar, however, you probably have a strong opinion about one versus the other. No matter which is your personal choice, it’s damn near impossible to go wrong with OEB or Blue Star Diner. Not only are they undoubtedly two of Calgary’s best spots, but they’re also practically beside each other. Heck, maybe back-to-back breakfasts are in order?

Morning Shopping

Head on over to the Bridgeland Market for organic groceries, homemade treats, and that type of market feel that only an old school neighbourhood can provide. If you’re looking for some ultra-unique clothing from a very hidden gem, check out UTB Specialty and Fashion Shop. Oh, and if you’ve got a furry friend, check out Doggywood Limited, definitely one of the coolest pet shops in town.

Snag a quick lunch

If you’re down for a little hot food to grab and walk around with, hit up Joycee’s Carribean for a taste of the tropics. Over at The Main Dish, you can get some casual and healthy eats that won’t slow you down as well. The choice is yours, people!

Afternoon Activity

Within Bridgeland, you’ve got plenty of nature to check out pretty much year-round. Whether you stroll on down to The Calgary Zoo for some incredible animal exhibits or head across the bridge to St. Patrick’s Island, there is something for everyone to check out.

Wrap it up with Dinner and Drinks

For dinner, we’d recommend a little sit-down at Sushi Bar Zipang. It’s a fine sushi spot with plenty of delectable dishes. Once you’ve stuffed yourself with way too much sashimi (as is the case with most sushi stops), head on over to Cannibale for a nightcap. It’s one of the top cocktail spots in the city, so enjoy. Oddly enough, it’s also one of the city’s coolest barbershops. Get lined up while you wind down with a drink, not bad at all.

Well, there you have it! That’s a pretty good day spent in Bridgeland if you ask us, Calgary. Get out there and enjoy yourselves!
